Manchester City complete signing of Kyle Walker from Tottenham in a deal worth £54m on a five-year contract

Manchester City have completed the signing of Kyle Walker from Tottenham in a deal that could cost £54m.
The England defender has signed a five-year deal at the Etihad Stadium until 2022 and becomes City's third major signing of the summer.
Pep Guardiola was determined to sign a quality right back following the departure of Pablo Zabaleta and Walker is rated one of the best full-backs in the Premier League.
City will pay an initial £45m, £5m more in 12 months’ time and another £4m in add-ons — a total surpassing the previous world-record £50m Paris Saint-Germain paid Chelsea for centre-back David Luiz in 2014.
The 27-year-old, who made over 180 appearances for Tottenham, is thrilled to be playing under Pep Guardiola and feels he can become an even better player at Manchester City.Walker said: "I am thrilled to be signing for City and can’t wait to get started.
“Pep Guardiola is one of the most respected managers in the world and I feel he can help me take my game to a new level.”
Txiki Begiristain, the Club’s Director of Football, added: “Kyle is a fine full-back, one capable of producing quality at both ends of the pitch.“We’ve followed his progress at Tottenham and have been really impressed by how he has developed. He is now one of the best right-backs in the Premier League and justifiably an England regular.
“I am sure he will be a success at Manchester City this season and beyond.”
Walker, who will wear the number two shirt, follows in the footsteps of Bernardo Silva and Ederson who made big money moves earlier in the summer.
