Bayern Munich 5-1 Arsenal : Mesut Ozil and Alex Iwobi go missing as Gunners Bow down again

After a period of substantial pressure the Gunners were handed a lifeline when Laurent Koscielny was caught in the box by Robert Lewandowski.Alexis Sanchez saw his initial effort from the spot saved by Manuel Neuer, but the Chilean’s blushes were saved as he was able to fire home the rebound.

Arsene Wenger’s side appeared revitalised after levelling – Granit Xhaka wasting a fine chance to put the visitors ahead before under-fire Mesut Ozil was denied by Neuer.But any momentum Arsenal had disappeared at the break, with Lewandowski restoring the hosts’ lead with a fantastic header from Philipp Lahm’s perfectly weighted cross.Koscielny was forced off just minutes before Lewandowski’s goal and his absence was exposed again as Thiago Alcantara scored Bayern’s third to secure the win.
